Benalmádena
The seaside town where our Finca is located

Benalmádena consists of 3 parts: Benalmádena Pueblo, Benalmádena Costa and Arroyo de la Miel (a true shopping paradise).

Our Finca is located in the village Benalmadena Pueblo. This village consists mainly of white houses, narrow and beautiful streets with cafes and stores.
From this village you have a beautiful view over the resort.

Castillo de Colomares

The first sight of the Castillo de Colomares immediately reminds you of a fairytale castle from the Efteling or Disneyland. This is because the castle consists of a colorful mix of Byzantine, Romanesque, Gothic and Mudéjar elements.

The castle was built by order of Dr. Esteban Martín Martín as an ode to the life of the great explorer and adventurer Christopher Columbus. Dr. Esteban Martín Martín has thought very carefully about the details of this extraordinary monument. Among other things, you can see 3 carved ships discover with which Columbus traveled to the Americas (Niña, Pinta and Santa María).

The entire plot covers an area of approximately 1500 m2 making it at once the largest monument in the world in memory of Columbus.

And another unique record: inside the castle you will find the smallest church in the world (Guinness Book of Records). This one has a area of only 1.96 m2.

La Stupa de Iluminación de Benalmádena

Stupas can usually only be viewed and visited from the outside. The Buddhist temple of Benalmádena however, is an exception to the rule and is publicly accessible.

Teleférico Benalmádena

The cable car of Benalmádena has a length of 5565 meters and has been in operation since 2000. It connects Arroyo de la Miel to one of the peaks of the Sierra de Mijas up to more than 700 meters above sea level. From here you have a beautiful view over the whole province and you can even see the African continent.

El Parque de la Paloma

Benalmádena boasts a very beautiful park that covers about 200,000 m2 in size and has several entrances. One of these entrances is a stone’s throw from the beach.

Especially on weekends, the park is very popular because it is a large green area is with several hiking trails, an artificial lake, various animals including chickens, roosters and rabbits. There is also a small petting zoo with mountain goats visit.

In addition to the local fauna and flora, there are of course more than enough food and beverage outlets, grassy areas and benches to relax for a while.
